The hardest part when deciding to look for a therapist is finding the right therapist. Someone that you feel you can speak to with openness. This is often called “having a good therapeutic fit”.
I have worked with people from all different walks of life. As a social worker, my services are anti-oppressive and do not discriminate. My goal is to provide you with a safe space to speak about whatever issue you may be needing assistance with at this time.
My experience includes working with individuals, couples, and families. I have expertise in treating:
- grief and loss
- chronic pain
- health anxiety
I also provide therapy services to individuals who have not been diagnosed with a mental illness but are seeking counselling services for reasons such as:
- school or work-related stress
- life transition, for instance, a divorce
- workplace injury
- a short or long-term leave from work
- return to work
- sexual identity/gender issues
- a health-related diagnosis such as cancer
I provide a recovery-oriented, strengths-based perspective and strive to assist clients to empower themselves.
“Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.”
As a Registered Psychotherapist, my services are regulated under the Psychotherapy Act 2007 and by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
I am also a Registered Social Worker with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. The college protects the public interest by regulating the practice of social work.
As a registered social worker or RSW, my services are covered under many employee benefits programs.
