I strive to assist individuals to empower themselves and move towards a life they value. We will work together using various therapeutic modalities with a focus on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help you on a journey to recovery.
Over the past 17 years, I have worked with several multidisciplinary teams in a variety of settings. These include community mental health services, public health care settings such as family health teams and hospitals as well as private counselling agencies.
I am a Registered Social Worker and a Registered Psychotherapist. As a Registered Psychotherapist, my services are regulated under the Psychotherapy Act 2007 and by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I am also a Registered Social Worker with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. The college protects the public interest by regulating the practice of social work.
My education includes a Bachelors of Arts focused on Psychology from the University of Guelph and a Bachelors of Social Work (Honours) from Ryerson University. I also hold a Diploma with Distinction from St. Lawrence College in Psychosocial Rehabilitation. I have had additional clinical training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
More recently my training has included Perinatal well-being to support women and men with Prenatal (before birth) Perinatal (after birth) Depression and Anxiety as well as training in late pregnancy loss. I have also completed training focused on Treating Anxiety using Play Therapy for children and adolescents.
