About Me

I strive to assist individuals to empower themselves and move towards a life they value. We will work together using various therapeutic modalities with a focus on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help you on a journey to recovery.

Over the past 17 years, I have worked with several multidisciplinary teams in a variety of settings. These include community mental health services, public health care settings such as family health teams and hospitals as well as private counselling agencies.

I am a Registered Social Worker and a Registered Psychotherapist.  As a Registered Psychotherapist, my services are regulated under the Psychotherapy Act 2007 and by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.  I am also a Registered Social Worker with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.  The college protects the public interest by regulating the practice of social work.

My education includes a Bachelors of Arts focused on Psychology from the University of Guelph and a Bachelors of Social Work (Honours) from Ryerson University. I also hold a Diploma with Distinction from St. Lawrence College in Psychosocial Rehabilitation.  I have had additional clinical training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and more recently training in Perinatal well-being to support women with Perinatal Depression and Anxiety.

Give me a call if you would like to learn how we can get started, and help you cope more effectively with whatever symptoms you are experiencing.

“Social Workers. Real Experts for Real Life”

The hardest part when deciding to look for a therapist is finding the right therapist. Someone that you feel you can speak to with openness. This is often called “having a good therapeutic fit”.

I have worked with people from all different walks of life.  As a social worker, my services are anti-oppressive and do not discriminate. My goal is to provide you with a safe space to speak about whatever issue you may be needing assistance with at this time.

Some of the people I work with are:

-military/veterans (RCMP and Canadian Armed Forces)

I work with individuals of all ages. Many of the people I work with have a mental health diagnosis and some are just seeking additional support and coaching while going through a specific struggle or issue.
